2014 Keys Cutest Pets Official Contest Rules

1. Entries will be accepted starting April 1^st, 2014. All entries must be received no later than 5pm, June 30^th,2014.
2. Entry Registration forms will be available throughout the registration period online here, at The Citizen business office and in each daily edition of The Citizen. There is a $20 registration fee for each entry which must be submitted along with a completed registration form and photo. Please make checks payable to The Key West Citizen.
3. Entries and photos may be submitted online here, in person at The Citizen business office, 3420 Northside Drive, Mon-Fri 7am to 5pm and Sat 7am to 11am, or mailed to: The Citizen, PO Box 1800, Key West, FL 33041.
4. There are 3 categories and each entry must specify only one category:
   1. Keys Cutest Pet – 1 pet per photo entry. No humans allowed. 1 photo per entry.
   2. Keys Ugliest Pet – 1 pet per photo entry. No humans allowed. 1 photo per entry.
   3. Keys Dynamic Duo (Group) – 1 or more pet(s) and 1 or more human(s) per photo entry. 1 photo per entry.  Pet(s) and their owner(s) must dress or look alike or otherwise have a common theme.  i.e. Batman and Robin.

1. Please submit a high-quality, close-up 3” X 5” or 4” X 6” color or black/white photo. Photos larger than 5” X 7” will not be accepted. Photos can be mailed with registration form or submitted digitally (.jpg or .jpeg format) on this page.
2. The Citizen is not responsible for incomplete, lost, late, postage-due, misdirected or illegible entries.
3. All entries become the property of The Citizen and photographs will NOT be returned unless accompanied with a self addressed stamped envelope.
4. The Citizen has the right to refuse any photo unsuitable for publication. All decisions are final. The Citizen will not be responsible for typographical, printing or other inadvertent errors in these rules or other materials relating to the contest.
5. All entries will be published online and a portion will be published daily in The Citizen during the contest period. Throughout April, May, June & July, The Citizen will feature pictures of the entries in each Sunday edition.
6. Voting begins April 1^st, 2014 and runs through July 31^st, 2014.
7. Votes can be made online, in person, over the phone or via mail. Ballots will be available online here, at the front desk of The Citizen business office located at 3420 Northside Drive, Key West, FL 33040 and will be printed daily in The Citizen during the voting period.
8. Votes will cost $1 per vote with a 5 vote minimum. Readers may vote as often as they wish. All votes must be received at the Citizen by 11:59:59 PM EST, July 31^st 2014.
9. Winners will be notified on August 1^st, 2014 and each will receive a gift basket, gift certificates, an award plaque and much more. Winning pets will be announced on Sunday, August 10^th, 2014 through Tuesday August 12^th, 2014 in The Citizen.

You must be 13 years of age or older at time of entry to be eligible for this contest. This contest is void where prohibited by law.

Winners will be notified by email. If a winner is unreachable after seven (7) days, or if that winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected. If we cannot find an eligible winner for the prize, that prize will not be awarded.

Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

Automated voting of any kind is not allowed. Detection of said automated voting will lead to votes being voided.

Only one registered account per voter. If multiple accounts are detected for a single voter, they will be disabled and votes disqualified.

We reserve the right to substitute any prize with another prize of equal or greater value.

Contest entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the contest commissioners, which are final on all matters pertaining to the contest.

Entrants further grant to us the right to use and publish their proper name and state online and in print, or any other media, in connection with the Contest.

We reserve the right to use any and all information related to the Contest, including information on contestants obtained through the contest, for marketing purposes or any other purpose, unless prohibited by law.

The Contest and all of the related pages, contents and code are copyright, UPICKEM, and us. Copying or unauthorized use of any copyrighted materials, trademarks or any other intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.

Each winner, by acceptance of the prize, agrees to release all Sponsors, and their parent and subsidiary companies, their officers, directors, employees, agents, shareholders, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising agencies from all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons and property which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership, or use of the prize.

We and UPICKEM are not responsible for Internet crashes or slowdowns caused by network congestion, viruses, sabotage, satellite failures, phone line failures, electrical outages, natural disasters or acts of man or God.

All results posted are unofficial until winners respond to e-mail notification.

Each winner is responsible for all federal, state and local taxes and will be required to complete an IRS form W-9. Sponsor reserves the right to withhold prizes until completed form W-9 is received.

This contest is not intended for gambling. If it is determined that a contestant is using the contest for gambling purposes they will be disqualified and reported to authorities.

We reserve the right to change the rules at any time.
